Chicken Masala (4 of 5)
Cooking the sauce (simmer for 20 min, add the chicken, simmer another 10 min). It’s 4 teaspoons of garam masala, 1 8 oz can of tomato sauce, 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 clove of minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. The small pot is full of Jasmine rice.

Chicken Masala (1 of 5)
We are cooking Chicken Masala tonight. Here is the cubed chicken and the marinade. We used 1 cup plain yogurt, 3 teaspoons of garam masala, 2 teaspoons of coarse black pepper, 1 teaspoon of sea salt, 1 tablespoon of minced ginger, and 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice from our lime tree (we forgot to buy lemon juice at the store). Lisa doesn't like spicy stuff, so we left out the cayenne pepper (although it was still spicy).

This is the cheapest gas I've seen in a while. Pay at the pump fried chicken is a good idea too.

"Red" the backyard chicken
We just moved to a new house and are closing on the old house this week. Thoughts of the old house took me to the time we bought chickens and had them in our backyard. Not sure why, and I promise I was not the one who bought them. I can't remember their names. But they were good looking birds. And tasty too! UPDATE: The chicken's names were Red and ?? UPDATE2: The chicken's names were Red and Bella per comments.

Cuckoo Marans
Marans is plural and singular for this breed named after their French town of origin. The Cuckoo refers to the black and white barred coloring. In this breed, the roosters are much lighter in color than the hens. That comes in handy early on! The larger, light colored chicken is my rooster Boots (because he has fluffy feathers on his legs)

Beef with Broccoli and Snow Peas
This recipe was pretty good, but the sauce needs some work. It didn't stop me from getting seconds. :)

Beef with Broccoli and Snow Peas
Some broccoli, snow peas, and sauce (1/4 cup flour, 10.5 oz beef broth, 2 tbs sugar, 2 tbs soy sauce, 1/4 tsp minced ginger, 1 clove minced garlic, 2 tbs of sherry). The sauce was good, but it needs more soy sauce.

Minor Damage from Hurricane Ike
We lost three small trees, got a little water in the house, and lost power for 3 hours. Not bad considering roofs, fences, trees, signs, traffic lights, etc were destroyed much further away from the eye of the hurricane than us. Sorry for the crappy photo, but I had to block the sun with my hand to take this.

Big Dogs. Big Bed.
They love this dog bed I made for them. The original design used woven Kevlar and Spectra thread, but those are difficult to work with. This one is made of heavy duty cloth and shredded memory foam. Maybe I'll use the Kevlar for the next bed.

The Future of Computing - Piclens + Zcam Demo
http://www.piclens.com http://www.cooliris.com/site/support/... This is a homemade demo I made where I mashed up Piclens with a Z-cam to give it a 3rd dimension. The outcome: hands-free photo browsing!!! Amazing, huh? * * * PicLens says: "Piclens transforms your browser into a full-screen slideshow experience. With just one click, PicLens makes photos come to life via a cinematic presentation that goes beyond the confines of the traditional browser window. With PicLens, browsing and viewing images on the web will never be the same again." I found this on YouTube... http://youtube.com/watch?v=I5tEhGIf-2s
