From the HWAC site the following is a quote with links added by me. ----------------------------------------------- Since February 2003, the Darfur region in western Sudan has been the site of one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. The Janjaweed militias have killed an estimated 300,000 civilians and have displaced more than a million others. Reports of mass rapes and the destruction of villages have brought criticism from world leaders and prompted visits from Colin Powell and Kofi Annan. The killing continues and last September, President Bush had declared the slaughter in Darfur to be “genocide.” What can be done to end the conflict, enforce a cease fire, and bring the millions of refugees back safely to their abandoned villages?
