UNC Sleep Lab -- Diversions
The stack of stuff I took with me to keep myself occupied. To be fair, a lot of the stuff had been shown to work as a sleep aid in the past.

UNC Sleep Lab -- Instructions & Ambien
All the things I was supposed to do before and during the lab...amazingly enough, sleep was not listed. The Ambien was given to me by the doctor to actually knock me out enough for the testing. The dosage was 1 pill...I had to take 2.

Anesthetic In Before They Set It
Yes, I know my toenails are ugly and long. I had several in-grown toenails that needed to be cut out when I was younger. The ugly toenails are worth avoiding in-growns!

This is the IP they put in to test their internet connectivity when they couldn't resolve DNS queries. ...and I think that's the nerdiest criticism I've ever given.

Dude, I've tried, it's impossible to study in your sleep.
No doubt! I decidedly couldn't sleep, so I studied the ceiling instead.
haha!
The obligatory pic W/ iPhone in the mirror.
c'mon gene, you gotta give us more than that! ;0]
Haha, well, I've been having all sorts of strange heart/breathing (constant dyspnea, palpitations, high/low blood pressure) problems over the past two years and have had almost every test there is — all of which say I'm fine.
Then, the thought occured to me that I might be tired all of the time because I simply don't sleep as much as I think I do (as opposed to tiredness being related to work-stress, allergies, etc.)
Anyway, I did the sleep test to see if I suffer from sleep apnea. I don't have the official results yet, but the tech said I have some level of UAO (upper airway obstruction).
So, to make a long story even longer; I thought I slept normally, but it turns out I barely slept at all. For the first 6 hours of the test, the computer showed that I was effectively awake for 2 of them, and I woke up several times in the middle of the other 4.
For the last 2.5 hours, I was put on a CPAP machine as a test. I couldn't breathe through my nose at all, so they had to use the mask that goes over my mouth and nose. It felt like someone was doing a poor job of suffocating me with a pillow for all 2.5 hours. Needless to say, I didn't sleep at all during those.
So, now I have to see the ENT about some 'house cleaning' regarding my deviated septum/inflamed tonsils.
That enough details for ya? haha
sooooooooooooooo……. Pass?
Not quite… see the comment above for more info. =)
