I noticed the disclaimer at the bottom of the package of peanuts on an airplane last weekend. Are people really so stupid that they have to be warned that peanuts may come from a facility that produces peanuts? (and other nuts)

Not everyone is ignorant towards food allergies. For those who are: peanut allergies are completely different from [tree] nut allergies. Peanuts are legumes, closer to a bean than a nut. Also, for those ignorant to the meaning of the word “ignorant,” it simply means you don't know - it is not an insult.
