The Apple Store at the Galleria in Houston, TX. I went iphone shopping with a friend and snapped this pic around 12:15pm. Sadly, he didn't get a phone. The wait time was about 2 hrs. Sent via Blackberry

OK, someone had to do it. I took this quickly with PhotoBooth, but the first picture washed out (the PhotoBooth "flash") so I turned the screen down all the way. Hence, my very dark face. :)

I Took the Plunge!
I manually downloaded the iPhone 2.0 firmware and installed it. I'm still waiting for all 7GB+ of my music/video to be synced back over. I can't wait to try out all of my new apps.

Is it different from your old one? Mine's exactly the same, except the 3G signal strength is much better.
Think you'll switch to the OpenMoko?
If the major selling point of this phone is 3G support, then yes, I'm not impressed. So far it's fallen back to Edge about 75% of the time I've had it. It's not like I'm in Blackstone right now, either.
However, it does *feel* much better in my hand though, so the form factor is an improvement. And I agree with you, somehow it feels lighter too.
That's strange considering you're in NYC. I've had very little trouble in Houston. I'm even getting a decent 3G signal in the middle of Galveston island.
