(Almost) No-Knead Bread
I tried the Cooks Illustrated modified version of Michael Bittman's recipe in the NYT. Just waiting for it to cool...

Hooters has left the building
You would think that in a town celebrating the Buffalo Wings, that a restaurant that specializes in such wings would survive. But no, the Buffalo Hooters closed last september.

Shrimp Creole and Grits
Tonight's dinner. This one took me a few hours. Most of the time went into peeling shrimp and chopping vegetables. Still, it was mighty tasty!

Homeboy Homefries
I'm kind of ashamed to admit that this comes from "A Man, A Can, A Plan" The cookbook that was THE gift to give college bachelors for a couple years, which is why I had three of them at one point.

Mahi Mahi with Miso and Bok Choy
I made my own version of the famous black cod recipe from Nobu. I used mahi because was on sale. I thought I'd have a little fun with plating, too. Making I look pretty is a lot harder than you'd think. I've got a ways to go on that part. Here's a link to the Nobu recipe: http://www.myriadrestaurantgroup.com/nobu/recipe1.html

Me at the bar, one last time
This is my last night in Buffalo for a while, so I'm kicking back at the Fuddruckers next to my hotel again, sipping a captain and coke. (I snapped this with my Photo Booth using the iSight camera of my MacBook Pro.) It's 27 degrees outside, and snowing. I drive to the airport in the morning. Yeay! Geekcruise #36 coming up, so I can thaw out my bones.
