Self portrait: "down"
As one of the assignments for the photo workshop, I was supposed to illustrate the word "down". So I got down on the floor, and shot myself in this mirror in the workout room. That's my new Canon 40D in my hand, and it took about 10 shots to get the camera pointed in the right direction. Yeah, crazy.

DUDE! How did you get started cooking? You make the most amazing dishes.
After realizing I really love eating, I decided that I should be able to cook stuff I really loved to eat. I also love the science behind the preparation of food, so I spend a lot of time learning about that.
I read a lot of books, practice techniques all of the time, taste something new whenever I get a chance, and watch a lot of “Good Eats” episodes. :) Alton Brown might be kind of goofy, but his shows are full of solid food science.
