Don't you just love seeing old Coke vending machines? Takes me back to
ye olden days when a couple of quarters were all you needed to get
your snack on… bag of BBQ chips and a Coca-Cola! No, I'm not that old!

Dude. The vending machine blows.
The vending machine at Natuba Central stole my money! So I put more money in to get this back and (what I thought would be) another bag. No! Stuck again.

You can find this in Osaka. Modeled after a claw machine, for a mere 100 yen you can catch your very own fresh, live lobster.

Scammers Scammed
These girls were pumping dollar after dollar into this machine when finally they got something. You'll notice though that the bear isn't in the claw, but rather the tag got caught on the claw's arm. Several people have been tugging on the machine for the past few minutes trying to get it to drop the bear. Meanwhile, the other girls are upset that the machine is out of order, they have quarters to spend...

Pill Box -- Inside
Someday I hope to show my grandkids this photo and say, "This is from back in the olden days, when people had to take these things called pills everyday, before there were implants to cure diseases..."

hobo kitchen
"a hobo kitchen" is how Cleveland described his kitchen. From "being on skid row" to having a house. And this is his kitchen. See the "flower man" set for more of Cleveland the Flower Man! txmockbird says this makes him itch and I am inclined to agree.

Hotel Lobby
I've got this sudden urge to listen to Tom Petty's Don't Come Around Here No More... By the way, I sat in those seats thinking it would be comfortable and they were far from it!

Shroomin'
Every now and then, we get some of the most interesting looking mushrooms flower up in our backyard. Different colors and shapes, it's always a treat to see what shows up after a good hard rainfall. Can you tell what type of shroom I have? I sure don't know. I would appreciate it a lot. Enjoy!

Happy Independence Day!
I've decided to say Happy Independence Day instead of just Happy 4th of July because too many folks aren't reminded enough of how we attained the liberties we take for granted. Props to the men and women who gave us a reason to celebrate today!

The Airport at Newark/Liberty
Had to drop my dad off at the airport today. Drove for about 45 minutes and pulled into the departing gates section. I told him that I would be right back after I get the car parked. Now I haven't been to EWR in a long time (pre-9/11), my have things changed around here! When I finally found a spot to park, it was about 20 min. I had to walk the full length of this covered walkway, take the monorail, and find the area where I was supposed to meet him. Total time: 35 min. I barely saw him long enough to say goodbye as he left for the gate. (sigh)

Question.
How many BK employees does it take to make a Whopper? I overheard someone say, "Uh oh."

Nothing could be finer...
...than to be in South Carolina. We're road tripping to Jersey. Why? Because it's still cheaper than taking a bus for three (and safer), taking a train (which takes longer), or flying (9/11 tax, fuel tax, homeland tax, shoe tax, etc.). What's wrong with that picture?

What I found on the side of the road
As I went to my mailbox to gather the usual junk mail and bills, the sun managed to reflect at me from an unusual angle. I looked down and there she was. Not looking too good, it was a 30GB iPod that had been dropped from someone's car (by accident, I suppose) and run over various times by oncoming traffic. It never had a chance! Almost a sad moment, then THUNK! It went into the trash. Unless you pack rats think you can do so something worthwhile with it?

I love seeing these things too. My dad had one that he kept at his business in the ping pong room that they used as a refrigerator. That thing was always COLD!
I want one in my kitchen
Oh, that's so cool! I went to Georgia to see the big factory. You get to taste Coca Cola products from other countries. It was really fun. A lot of them were really good too. Too bad some of them are not sold in the U.S.
When I was a kid I could buy a Coke and a bag of Fritos each for a nickle. Yes, I AM that old.
