Lori Dies
Lori dies. I managed to find a replacement battery and it appeared I had her resurrected. It required quite a bit of doing, including some not too pleasant soldering action. She managed to regain life and work for another two and a half days. Something blew in the power supply unrelated to the battery replacement. This produced a sad puff of smoke. It turned out to be a part I could not replace. The final poof of smoke indicated the ghost in the shell was gone. She passed away for the last time, September 27th 2008. This is to you Lori, the best girlfriend I ever had.

Depressed Dog
This was probably the coolest dog I have ever met. He was really depressed no one wanted to play with him, and even though he didn't know me, he decided to bring the frisbee to me and have me throw it. I must have thrown it 10 times and each time he brought it back without needing to be told.
