My painting teacher did this cow painting which I really liked so I bought it.

Painting in progress
Yeah, it looks dorky. I was practicing different kinds of leaves and backgrounds. I don't know if I'll finish this one or start a better one!

More of mom's irises
Here are a few more of mom's irises done in watercolor. She did mainly floral paintings. This was done before her first stroke.

Mom's purple irises
Mom painted irises before her stroke. These are among my favorites. Viewed at an angle to prevent flash overload.

Dot's lady in white
Another of Dot Danielson's oils. I have always loved this painting. I have it hanging over the paino.

Dad's portrait of ME!
My dad did this painting when I was about 2. He used oils with a palette knife. It is hanging in the game room at our home.

Dot's portrait of mom
Dorothy "Dot" Danielson was our church organist while I was growing up. She painted this portrait of mom with oils, but she never actually finished it. I framed it anyway.

Pink Rose
I started this in class, but barely got through the first wash. Spent another 20 hours or so on it and got this. Again, at an angle due to flash.

Interesting Tool
I never knew this tool existed. It is designed to paint a perfect line with just a regular can of spray paint. I am intrigued by its simplicity.

Banana Blossom
I started this in class, then finished it at home. It's probably the best I've done so far. Sorry about the angle. It kept the flash from washing it out.

Jim's orchids
This was something my teacher did to see if he could duplicate his teacher's work. It's not for public viewing since it's a duplicate, but it's here so he can see it.

Alex Beard
Alex Beard is my favorite artist. We stopped by his gallery in SoHo and he was there painting. I first met him when I was living in New Orleans 7 years ago, and I loved his paintings.

Hey now that the mowing is done, let's chop wood!
Fonsi thought the mowing was so much fun, we should chop wood next.
Posted by cdenny21 about 1 month, 1 week ago.
Yeah, I'm glad I don't have to mow...
Fonsi is contemplating what it would be like to be human.

Boots the Cuckoo Marans Rooster
Here is Boots the Cuckoo Marans rooster. He is 5 months old here and already has his offspring in the incubator.

Cuckoo Marans
Marans is plural and singular for this breed named after their French town of origin. The Cuckoo refers to the black and white barred coloring. In this breed, the roosters are much lighter in color than the hens. That comes in handy early on! The larger, light colored chicken is my rooster Boots (because he has fluffy feathers on his legs)

Chessie
Chessie is a beautiful Ameraucana rooster. Ameraucanas are best known for their GREEN eggs. Outside only, not on the inside! Also, Chessie does not lay eggs (before anyone asks).

2 socks at a time
I have figured out how to knit 2 socks at a time on ONE circular needle. Pretty cool. Now I have the pair finished at the same time without worrying about all of those little double ended needles.
