In an interview, Bill Gates referred to free culture advocates as "modern-day sort of communists". boingboing.net/2005/01/05/bill_gates_free_cult.html Someone adapted the Aeroflot logo to use the copyleft symbol and released it for free. www.boingboing.net/2005/01/06/more_gates_copyleft_.html A screen printer took the logo and started selling tshirts for $5 a piece. www.giantrobotprinting.com/store/shirts/all/ccaero This all happened in the space of 24 hours and wouldn't have been possible without free culture.

I saw this fallen tree today when I was out biking on the trails at the park. It's actually much bigger than it looks in this picture, and seeing it sent me back about 20 years. I had to stop riding so I could go walk and run back and forth across it.
